Our purpose

Technology is most powerful when communities can use it for themselves.

Our work starts with real needs: someone learning to complete an online form, a young person building a practical skill, or a community protecting irreplaceable historical records. We connect those needs to relevant tools, training and partnerships.

In development

Digital access & skills

Making technology useful in everyday life and work: devices, email, digital documents, spreadsheets, PDF signatures, online services, digital safety and practical AI literacy.

Planned community-based learning programme
Project underway

Digital heritage & memory

Supporting community-led collection and preservation of oral histories, documents and historical knowledge, with skills transfer and appropriate control over what is shared.

NHC-supported Mogopa heritage initiative
Exploring partnerships

Community innovation

Exploring mapping, geospatial tools and locally relevant digital systems that communities can use to document places, strengthen administration and understand opportunities.

Community-led and responsible by design
Our work in motion

The stories of a community deserve a future.

Digital Dreamers NPC is implementing the Bakwena Ba Mogopa Living Heritage & Resistance Memory Project, supported by the National Heritage Council.

The initiative is working to document oral histories, digitise historical material, organise records and establish a community-owned digital heritage archive. It is also a practical setting for local skills development and knowledge transfer.

WORK IN PROGRESS
Our approach

Not technology for its own sake. Capability that stays.

Our aspiration is to work alongside communities, not simply deliver a workshop and leave. Each programme should create knowledge and capabilities that remain useful after the initial project.

01 / LISTEN

Start locally

Understand community priorities, available spaces, barriers and existing strengths.

02 / LEARN

Build confidence

Teach practical, accessible skills with relevant tools and clear learning goals.

03 / APPLY

Do useful work

Connect learning to real tasks: records, administration, digital services and community projects.

04 / SUSTAIN

Grow local capacity

Strengthen local facilitators, systems and partnerships for continuity.

What's next: We are developing a community digital access and youth skills programme. Proposed training spaces, participant targets and activities remain subject to local approvals, resources and funding.
Partnerships that matter

Good work is built together.

We welcome practical partnerships with schools, community organisations, training providers, technology companies, researchers and funders.

  • Digital tools and connectivity that expand access to learning.
  • Training, mentorship and work exposure that turn lessons into capability.
  • Knowledge and technical expertise for responsible archives, mapping and local innovation.
  • Programme and institutional support that helps initiatives become sustainable.
